It's time to talk sequels: Which ones probably will get made? Which ones probably won't? Which ones will I never consider doing a follow up to? Find out below.
STUPID MARIO BROS. 4
Probability: Very unlikely
Sorry to crush your crazy hopes and dreams, but right now I'm dead certain I'm NOT going to do another Stupid Mario Bros. I've said this multiple times, I've even said this in the end of Stupid Mario 3, there simplly won't be another one. I'm tired of the series, I'm tired of doing sprite blooper movies, I've grown out of them. And really, by now, in 2008, surely the internet must be growing tired of sprite blooper movies as well. They've been around for absolutely bloody ages. There isn't really a place for them any more. Now I know a significant amount of fans are going to disagree outright with that statement, so I'm sorry, but I just don't like the genre much any more. I only made Stupid Mario 3 in the end because of the huge demand and the fact that I had promised it. Now I'm not promising anything. So stop expecting it! ... Will I make another sprite movie unrelated to Stupid Mario? Well... maybe... one day... But don't expect it to follow the traditional blooper / gag reel format. I will only do a new sprite movie if I can think of a unique and original idea for one.
STAR WARS ROGUE SQUADRON FLASH 2
Probability: 50/50
This one I'm not sure about. It was fun doing the first game and it got a big (mostly positive) reaction from the public, and I've always been thinking of ways I could expand on it and do a sequel. A lot of people are telling me to set a game in the Clone Wars. No. I'm not going to do that. I think the Clone Wars are dull, boring and quite pathetic to be honest. Factor 5's Rogue Squadron series never delved into the Clone Wars and the title itself refers to the Rebellion against the Empire, so if I do a sequel you can guarantee it will still be set in the original trilogy timeline. (Old fans rejoice.) If so the missions would probably be adaptations of the original missions in the Rogue Squadron games (taking place between episodes 4 and 5, or 5 and 6.) I don't know though. Going in that direction might get too boring for players and for me, making the game. Also I want to add big improvements to the gameplay and game structure, but I haven't been able to do much so far. Don't rule this one out forever, but don't expect any kind of announcement for a long time.
INSANE RADIOACTIVE BASTARDS 2
Probability: Unlikely
Oh noes! Didn't I promise this at the end of the first episode? Yeah. I did. But I don't want to do a sequel. The first one was ignored by many and I'm pretty sure if I just continued its pointless, random sense of humour it wouldn't be worthwhile. But wait! I'm not necessarily done with the IRB characters. There are plenty of ways that they could make comebacks in other animations and such. If I ever decide to make another trip into Humpington for a sequel, I will want to make some big changes to the format, and because of that there will probably be a title change and I'll probably set it up as a whole new series and not a sequel to IRB.
JAMES BLOND 2
Probability: Very Unlikely
The first cartoon was a big disappointment for me in the end. The plan was to make it a lot longer, and a lot funnier, but it turned into an unoriginal parody of the GoldenEye intro. Damn. If I could go back and change it, you bet I would, but I can't. "Well just do a Casino Royale-esque reboot then!" Um... No. I might still do another Bond parody. But, I'm not going to use James Blond.
BALLOON FIGHT / STAR FOX / OTHER NINTENDO GAMES
Probability: Unlikely
Hey, I could make these game a lot better, if I really tried. I can code more realistic physics and stuff as well, and doing a longer game wouldn't take too long. But I'm starting to stop wanting to do Nintendo remakes or tribute games as of such. It's not that I'm worried about copyright, it's just that I would rather do original stuff, rather than relying on established trademarks that I don't own.
BLOBBIUM 2
Probability: Uh... one day?
I haven't really thought much about this. It's certainly something I could do. Ask again in 2009.
STAR WARS: CANTINA BAND REMAKE
Probability: Now we're talking
Now here's something I want to do. Looking back on Cantina Band, its a very early game I made and because of that it comes off as rather poor. But I'm a lot better now. I want to remake Cantina Band, and make it awesome, because I know I can. I'm not making it at the moment, nor do I want to start soon. It's towards the end of my to-do list.
NEW UNTITLED SHOWS?
Probability: Don't be stupid
It's a relic of the past. A crappy relic as well. It's not going to happen.
ATOM POWER
Probability: Yes, but
When it's done it's done. That's all I can say about my space franchise thing that's been whizzing around my head for almost 10 years. I'm not rushing it or anything, because it's something that is so important for me to get right. I'll wait until 2053 if I have to. If you have no idea what Atom Power is, read this page, or watch my hilarious first attempt at making it here. (back when I was a stupid kid.)
So there you have it. You'll probably see from this page that not a lot of my flashes are going to have to sequels, but you really shouldn't worry. The new stuff I'm making or planning to make is going to be A LOT BETTER than most of what I've done so far. With 3 animations that I want to get done by the end of the year, 2 of them I am going to try to turn into fresh new series(es) You have a lot to look forward to.
