Here's all the help you'll ever need for my Star Wars: Rogue Squadron game!
CHEAT CODES
Enter these passwords on the Cheat menu. Duh!!!
DARTHJARJAR- Infinite shield
HELPMEOBIWAN- Shield recharge mode
ITSTOOQUIET- Infinite seismic charges
TWELVEPARSECS- Checkpoint skip
THEREISNOTRY- Super weak shield
GROOVYEWOK- Disco mode
YT1300HYPERDRIVE- Debug mode
4HAN70MM3N8CE- Tank2Tank's mode *
* replaces many of the objects in the game with the heads of me and some of my friends.
Also, entering HUNKOFJUNK activates a cheat which was supposed to slow down the speed of your ship during ring sequences, but I couldn't get this to work in time.
MEDAL TARGETS
These are the scores you need to achieve if you want the better medals after each mission. There is no target score for bronze- you will automatically get bronze after finishing a level if you do not meet the target for silver. Ace medal targets are roughly the highest score I have managed to set on the 3 levels.
1- Battle of Yavin:
Silver- 13600 pts
Gold- 16400 pts
Ace- 20550 pts
2- Battle of Hoth:
Silver- 14800 pts
Gold- 19500 pts
Ace- 23225 pts
3- Battle of Endor:
Silver- 20000 pts
Gold- 22000 pts
Ace- 25100 pts
ENEMY SCORING
Different enemies are worth different scores for defeating, as you can see below:
Standard TIE Fighter- 100 pts
TIE Interceptor- 150 pts
Turbolaser- 30 pts
Deflection Tower- 500 pts
AT-ST walker- 300 pts
AT-AT walker- Nothing (all your score here comes from the rings)
Probot aka Probe Droid- 10 pts
Death Star Core piece- 750 pts
Star Destroyer Executor- 1000 pts
Also every ring in the game is worth 5 points.
The rest of your score comes from shield bonuses after the checkpoint and end of each mission, and an accuracy bonus at the end.
DEFEATING WALKERS
I'm sure you know what to do- when you approach a walker, hit space when the moving target slides over the green area to trigger a 'ring' sequence, where you must fly through rings with the mouse (some are random, some are fixed) to take down the walker. Depending on how good a player you are, it might not be worth actually trying to take down all 4 walkers. This is because you only need to destroy 2 walkers to complete the mission, and if you mess up on a ring sequence, you automatically lose 20% of your shield. Remember, the shield you have at the end of both halves of a mission drastically effects the score bonus you will get.
COMPLETING ENDOR
Completing the final mission is a little different as you have to destroy 3 different pieces of the death star core. You have to destroy them in order and they take multiple hits to destroy. It's easy to see which piece you need to target as it glows white every few seconds. As for the ring sequences before and after this point- before you reach the core, if you miss a ring you will lose 4% shield, and after the core, missing a ring will cause the fire to catch up with you. Miss 3 rings here and you will die from being engulfed in the explosion.
TAKING DOWN THE EXECUTOR
At the end of the first half of the Endor mission there is an opportunity for you to get an extra 1000 points and watch an extra cut-scene. When the A-Wing appears, if you can destroy all the TIE fighters before they destroy the A-Wing, you will see the A-Wing fly into the super star destroyer (Executor) command deck, causing it to crash into the Death Star. You need to be quick shooting the TIEs, and when you hear the A-Wing pilot scream, it means he's nearly dead. So be quick, and you'll reach the extra scene.

Taking down the Executor toggles an extra cut-scene
USING SEISMIC CHARGES WISELY
You only get 5 seismic charges on the final mission, so using them effectively is a key skill to getting the higher scores. When activated with the space bar, a seismic charge will completely destroy all the enemies on the screen for a period of about 1.2 seconds, but you will only get 10% of the points you normally would for the kills (e.g. a TIE fighter gives you 10 points rather than 100.) Here is a good example of where to use the charges wisely:
1- After the first 2 TIEs fly past, hit space. This should destroy the group of 6 TIEs that are incredibly hard to hit normally. You will still have to shoot the Interceptors, but its worth it for the points.
2- As soon as the Y-wing flies past in the top-left, hit space again. This should destroy atleast a couple of the 4 TIEs who fly in quickly from the lower-right, and should destroy a few extra as well.
3- Another good spot to destroy a number of TIEs is just as the Death Star comes back into view- hit space as the screen starts to pan up.
4- Soon after this, hit space again just after the Death Star destroys the rebel ship to wipe out the group of TIEs who fly out of the explosion.
5- Near the end of the first half of the mission, you might want to use another charge to fend off the A-Wing's attackers. If not then it's wise saving a charge up for the death star core so that you can focus on shooting the core's weak points... for MASSIVE DAMAGE (sorry I couldn't resist.)
